3. SMS messaging and opt-in consent

BTM Intake sends automated SMS messages on behalf of law firm clients. These messages are sent only to individuals who have taken an action that constitutes opt-in consent, such as:

Calling a law firm's number and not reaching a live person (missed call trigger)
Submitting a web form on a law firm's website
Engaging with a chat widget on a law firm's website

By engaging with these touchpoints, individuals consent to receive SMS messages from or on behalf of the law firm.

Opt-out: Recipients may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, no further messages will be sent. To re-subscribe, reply START.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency depends on lead activity and the law firm's automation settings.

We do not sell, share, or use SMS opt-in data for any purpose other than delivering the requested communications on behalf of our law firm clients. This data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve the BTM Intake platform
Send automated follow-up messages and appointment reminders on behalf of law firm clients
Respond to inquiries and fulfill audit or onboarding requests
Monitor compliance with applicable messaging laws and carrier guidelines
Generate aggregated, anonymized reporting for law firm clients
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

With law firm clients — Lead information collected through our platform is shared with the law firm client on whose behalf the intake is running.
With service providers — We use third-party providers (such as SMS carriers, CRM integrations, and calendar platforms) to operate our services. These providers are contractually bound to handle data securely and only for the purpose of providing services to us.
For legal compliance — We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with our legal obligations. Lead data is retained for a minimum of 12 months unless a law firm client requests earlier deletion. SMS opt-out records are retained indefinitely to honor opt-out requests.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

8. Your rights
